🧠 App Story ②
Sound Power did not come from a plan. After ten years of watching people who came to learn English delight that “as a bonus, my hearing got better,” the app was made by taking that bonus and turning it into the main thing.
Measure the audible frequency of students who had done about a month of Korean speed-listening, and for a good number of them the range they could hear had widened and their measured hearing age had grown younger. One company owner in his 60s saw his app-measured hearing age come back to the level of his 30s; his tinnitus eased, and he found himself turning the TV volume down. As that scene repeated, it became clear — hearing measurement and training alone needed a tool of their own.
Without going to a clinic: 1) find the edge of your audible frequency with a tone that climbs higher and higher, 2) check your hearing age against the average for your age group, 3) train every day with lossless original-sound speed-listening that keeps the high frequencies intact, then 4) re-measure a month later and compare the change. English-listening training is in there too — because when the ears grow younger, English comes through better as well.
Because hearing touches the sensitive ground of medicine and health, the app was rejected more than five times in Google Play review — even now the wording and phrasing are being refined while it waits for approval (it is already live on the App Store). It is an uncomfortable process, but the right direction: inflated efficacy claims erode trust in the end. That is why every phrase in this app is careful.
Sound Power is not a medical device and does not prevent or treat any disease. Hearing age is a self-measured figure for gauging change from training, not a diagnosis, and results vary from person to person. If you are worried about your ear health, a clinical exam comes first.
